Crikey Culpepper those are impressive! Have you noticed any difference yet? I could imagine the first one would be especially effective with the glinting eyes (says she who was making the chickens cluck the other day by waving a photo of a Jack Russell at them )

I shouldn't be surprised if you could sell those although they must take you ages.

Culpepper, they are really lovely - the eyes are very well done!

We're having a big problem with boar and badgers eating our maize at the moment, so we went up yesterday to make a "scarecrow". (not as artistic as yours, but if it works... )

Here's Fabrice fiddling with the batteries for our lad's pocket radio...

Thanks!
Funnily enough I havent seen a bird land on the veg patch in days
Not sure if bert is as frightening as hooty though as he is a cola bottle and about 8" high, where as hooty is much bigger and on a taller pole .
I tried using a square vegetable oil bottle but the 'wings' being corrugated ,would keep buckling up and stopping it from spinning.Shame because I was going to do a snowy owl if it worked.

They are fantastic, how long did they take to make? If I was being a little critical I think the wings need a little work (or not used at all) but I think you could sell them.

Errrr, then how would they spin on their sticks in the wind?

You should know by know marketing has nothing to do with the fact the product works. I was just going on looks alone.

I think they take about 2 hours to paint.
I could staple some more plastic to the 'wings' (margarine tub or something like that).
At present they are the same on both sides. That is to say there is no back view as whichever direction you look at them from, they are looking back,2 sides for the little one which has 2 flaps and 3 sides for the larger which has 3 flaps.
I thought I would give them a while and see how weather proof the painting turns out to be as it is acrylic which 'should ' be water proof.
I wouldnt mind selling a few if they are truly weatherproof.
Unfortunately,Im not very good at marketing myself. When I was at work ,one of my collegues sold his protrait drawings to help pay his rent and I know my art is as good as his was but Im such a coward when it comes to selling

thanks Gertie
If they prove weather proof I think I'll try to sell some through ebay.At least then I'll know if there is any demand.
