The Doors doc was pretty good too.

For a 60's psych nerd like me, it was a tad jumpy and bitty, but better than nothing. If it sparks someone's interest, then these days it's easy enough for them to delve further.

I enjoyed it. The following Hendrix at Woodstock doc was a bit of a let down somehow though. Maybe some of the solos were just too long. All those years ago they seemd brilliant; Maybe it just goes to show wine is not as good for the brain as wacky backy.

Hendrix was an accomplished musician when you listen to his recordings, but his live performances (at least the ones I've seen on TV) IMO were more "staged" (obvious really) & living up to his, dare I say, reputation
His playing style is relaxed & fluid, & is only spoilt by his (IMO again) pratting about with 9 hour guitar solos, when playing live, & setting fire to things

I'm still a big fan though, but he is an acquired taste for a lot of people

As for stoning...."over 'ere son...on me 'ead !!!"

I guess you had to be at the Bag O' Nails in '66 (like a friend's brother was, when he was albeit briefly dating Julie Driscoll)

There are times when I think I spent much of the 80's in a parallel universe - certainly in terms of music.

My take on 80's rock:
