Know any rural estate agents, sites with advice, all that kind of thing that might help Downsizers find their dream property? Post 'em up here, when I manage it I'll tidy it up and get someone to put it up as a sticky.

Ok I'm a tad late for this debate and I can't help with property sites, but if you needed to do some mortgage homework, I've used the following sites:

https://www.direct.gov.uk/
https://www.moneynet.co.uk/(mortgage comparisons)

Can't really give advice - just to say that we're absolutely obsessed with buying property in this country and that nobody should be borrowing unrealistic amounts of money or getting their family to remortgage their property to buy that first home / dream home.

Don't believe the hype.

For smallholdings / property in rural west Wales https://www.smallholding-wales.co.uk https://www.morgananddavies.co.uk - has plenty of smallholdings with a search specifically for smallholdings (at realistic prices)!

We found land at: www.propertyfile.net Especially good for Ireland, always worth looking at price comparisons anything to renovate is a bargain!
