I'm making some felt/mixed media jewellery and I want to package them in those little foldy pillow pack things. I found some that were made out of Kraft paper but the site has a minimum order of 50 quid Further searches ahve proved fruitless. Anyone got any ideas?

Prototype of a couple of bits so far (got eyelets and 'ting' to add)

Are you looking for packaging for sending, or packaging as gift-wrap, Stacey?

You can get die cutters that will cut those shapes out of any thin card or stiff paper, but the initial outlay on the machine and die would be a couple of hundred quid. We have one at work and its great. Definately a consideration if youy thought you'd get through enough boxes, though they can also be sold on in their own right.

Gift wrap really, though I'd use it for posting as well.

oooh, memories, I spent a lot of time making pillow boxes when I was making a lot of jewellery. I made my own template and cut them all out by hand, though a die-cutter sounds MUCH better

I really haven't got the time or the energy to make my own packaging. I need to buy it in.

Sorry, I haven't bought them before. Have you got/do you know any teenagers you could get to help you, perhaps pay them piece work?

there are specialist packaging manufacturers that make boxes for jewellery but you might have an easier time get FSC rather than recycled.

Is it worth looking on sites that do "wedding favour" boxes? You might be able to get them cheaper there?

Or, can you "pay" someone who is time rich but cash poor, to make a few for you? If you can't pay them in money, you could trade one of your pieces perhaps?

Came up with this last night - get a cardboard cover from a CD - the ones given away with newspapers, etc. Fold the open edges together, to form a pyramid shape, staple or stick the opening when you have filled it. I thought it was quite a neat idea, but Royal Mail might not love you too much!

I like the idea, but it wouldn't go through most letterboxes. If I'd ordered something small like jewellry I'd be a bit hacked off if I missed my postie and had to go and collect it when it could've fitted through my letterbox if packed differently.
