Can eco bulbs be recycled? If so, how? One has finally blown! I don't have any problem with the light level: we use them in every room, and also in the shop so I'm almost never exposed to any others. (Overspill from the lightbulbs thread!)

As you can probably tell from the other thread, I've had a go with our council on this one. Didn't get anywhere.

I was just doing a google for recycling of light bulbs and found this :

"Believe it or not, British traffic lights consume the energy equivalent of two medium-sized power stations every year. "

i did not even think about that

I'm sure I remember seeing eco-bulbs somewhere where you changed the bulb bit and kept the base unit ( I mean the bit which plugs into the light fitting). Can't remember where though which isn't very helpful.

I think Potters are brilliant - they have bins for all sorts of stuff I haven't seen collected elsewhere, like electrical cables for example.

Never been before but I've got to go to Welshpool on Friday (Farmers' Market) so I'll pop in. Fancy a coffee? If so, bring your knitting!

Just make sure you don't come back with more than you went with - the good stuff is all available for sale!

Not sure about Friday - depends on work. I might not know until tomorrow evening - I'll PM you.
