Yoghourt pots are good for freezing soups, stock, stews, etc. I always save them, plus lids which I tape down firmly in the freezer.

I don't get really stinky bins because I use all the bones in stock - everything, fish, chicken, lamb, the lot, and once they have been boiled they are much cleaner.

Dustbin powder is pretty useless stuff and I'm sure it's lousy with chemicals.

I do the bicarb thing too every time I empty the bin - whack a bit in, chuck in some vinegar, swill it around a bit then tip it out.
