Just ordered 100tons of topsoil at £4 a ton, plus £200 quid for a days lorry and digger hire.

Ouch.

yep, our drive used over 250 tonnes of rock, and that's before the small stuff went on.

If you look at a 10ton dump trailer on a tractor, it aint that big.

WE used that much because it's on a slope and we've made it level inside.

You used that much because you appear to have bought most of Essex.

In real life, my forehead is bulging slightly, red and peeling, because I've got sunburnt, and it hurts. The avatar is flattering.

Did I say 100tons? Turns out we needed 240 tons to give a depth of 6 inches for the garden and orchard, and 12inches for the vegetable plot.

Mind you, used double the amount but got it for half the price, so things turned out alright in the end.

So, me moaning about having to shift 5 tons isn't going to get much sympathy, is it?

Particularly since it was only 2.5 tons earlier this morning.

Oh, the other half is going to be delivered today, I hope. Managed to shift about a ton last night, but it's much harder going this morning. The only difference I can see is I had a slight Stella haze last night. Is it too early to half a couple of pints of wife beater, do you think?
