Yep, down for me. I'll just go and PM Mrs Nesbitt on RC to say we're back up.

I had trouble getting onto the site for about 20 minutes. Just kept coming up with 'page not available'.

Phew, was pleased to get back on - thought you had all done a runner!!

I had it worse Aside from my love of this site, I like our hosts an awful lot, and as such a number of my other favourite sites are also hosted with f5hosting including my business site. Everywhere was dead dead dead

Yep, we were all off to South America on the income from the Google ads, but I forgot my passport so we've come back.

would be nice, but the sites income from google over 3 months is a fraction of my daily consultancy charges

OK here is what happened. MCI went down, (we have been having some service issues with them). And BGP failed over to nlayer, but all traffic going over nlayers peers went fine. Sometime between when nlayer got turned up and when MCI went down, GBLX dropped our routes. This is what caused the downtime. We had to issue an emergency update ticket to gblx through nlayer, to restore connectivity.

In the coming week(s) we hope to be turning up above.net and possibly Level(3). In addition we have completed our dark fiber ring connecting, Clifton, with 111th 8th ave and 165 halsey in a fully redundant ring, with IP transit out of each location.

IP connectivity should be at 100%

I am sure everyone will now be entirely clear about what happened

Funny enough you should do, reading between the techno babble, it does mean we will be getting more redundancy in the connection, which should add a lot to reliability.

I thought it probably did. Nothing to stop them saying it in english though, is there. Apart from being geeks, of course.
