... is lovely and sunny

I have planted loads of seeds in the greenhouse, repotted my bay tree and passionflower. Potted all the calendula seedlings and swept/tidied up the patio

just feeding Jack and then I'm back out to plant spuds

I also spotted what I think is a cabbage growing in the middle of the grass

Up here to

The lad and I have spent the morning planting out loads of peas and broad beans ... the latter of which he insists he "looooooves", we'll see come harvest time of course it would have nothing to do with the fact that they're chocolate brown in colour

Guess I'm going to have to get my finger out and look at digging that veg patch I've been going on about since we moved here in september ... it's just been so ruddy cold

ended up having a good tidy up and planted some sunflower seeds with emily. burnt all the old wood my ex left here and put spuds and sausages in the fire to cook, which were yummy. now I had a small pile of ash rather than a mountain of wood scraps makes it a lot easier to get rid of

I'm feeling veeery virtuous. I completely cleared out the shed and greenhouse, and the garage and cupboard under the stairs too! I took all the stuff into the garden so I could sort through it in the sunshine

sooo jealous too - spent the day using our new motor home (yes folks another mention!) to move stuff to the new place - we had decided to tackle the rest of downstairs, and all I could do was look longingly at the garden---- we will have to leave the little veggie plot and are not sure we will have enough room for another one . Good news was the OH came in from the garden just before sunset with a handful of purple sprouting broccoli - our first!!! so now I am lettucewoman and broccoliwoman - first two things I have ever grown to eat!!

Absolutey knackered now - no power steering so have been hauling Archie around into parking spaces etc....my arms!!!!

Aw! How romantic!
I did some weeding. Why do cotyledons all look the same?

I'll have a look thanks. I generally have a vague idea what I'm looking at.

Here:

Once upon a time it was the highest house in the country, up until the 70's I believe 1410ft

Aside from the train (they run a narrow gauge one in the summer ) and the building in the foreground it's pretty much unchanged since the piccie was taken - whenever that was

Ohoooo........that looks bleak. I'm surprised you've managed anything in the garden yet. Well done. Are there some more trees about nowadays?

It might be bleak, but when the sun's out and the skies are clear i wouldn't want to be anywhere else ... we get grouse wandering through the garden and when I opened my curtains the other morning there were bunnies, birds and all sorts jumping around and enjoying our lawn

yeah, there are a load of non-native species in our front garden , waiting to be felled and fed to my fire ... of course they'll be replaced with some nicer native ones
