Well said Nick, it's the way I always try to look at things, "opportunities" are much easier to address than "problems".

Unless you're experiencing the opportunity to learn how to fly, rather than addressing the problems of falling off a cliff.

I think the basic notion that Nick put forward was a sensible one, obviously it's up to an individual how they implement it within their own business. I've certainly never seen doom and gloom help in any business, anything that gets you thinking positively is a bonus.

I think you will see that many of the successful businesses managed to take a dismal situation and turn it to their advantage.

All that he is saying is that if you lay the groundwork you can be in a stronger position than your competitors when the time comes.

The real life examples of cases are many....

I'd rather see people sit and deal with a situation, planning for the future and coping, than sitting there able to do nothing, and getting deeper into trouble.

My usual consultancy rates apply.
