Boff when your bones are creaking and your back is aching just think in a few months time what great harvests you will be getting its so worth the effort. There are loads of lovely people on here with some great experience of growing all kinds of things in all kinds of places so please ask if you need any help |

Yes, rocket is a great one to start off the year. When you see a silly bag of organic rocket selling for £1.99 in the supermarket, and your garden is full of the stuff, it brings on a really warm, smug feeling!!! |

We've worked out that what we used to spend on just salad stuff in a year was more than twelve times what we have spent on the items to grow our own - and teh other plus points are now we wont be dependant on the supermarket for it, and we know exactly how it was grown eg no pesticides etc |

I'm armed to the teeth with seeds, pots, trays an a host of other stuff ready for a long day tomorrow - its our first year for planting our own stuff. We made the beds last autumn, have been recycling all sorts of plastic containers since then - We seem to have a huge ammount of stuff to sow and I dont mind admitting its a little scary sure we'll survive though...... |
you'll be fine, just watch your back tomorrow, and pace yourself. My bet is in a few months time there'll be a cry of help from your direction asking what to do with a glut of courgettes! |

Can't she go shopping, without you sighing and checking your watch and saying "yes very nice dear", and you stay at home with the potatoes and the girls (if they're anything like I was...in fact, still am...they'll leap at any chance to get muddy and avoid shops)? Everyone's happy... |
