As an aside, anyone remember the 'panic' on 'Jimmy's Farm ' when they had a quote of 15,000 to put water in?

I just sorted out my supply. £164.00 from the water board to make a connection, plus £150 for a permit to open the road (which I get back)

My only other cost is a mini digger to sort out the 60cm trench and fill it back in again.

Anyone doubt that these reality TV shows need a bit of false drama?

If we did it it would be about £450 for a communication pipe in a road up to 2m from the boundary and £70 per metre in a surfaced public road after that. From what I remember the main was about 2 metres from the private track and he would have had to sort out laying the supply pipe down to the house which would be a days JCB hire a trench about 3ft deep and a length of cheap plastic pipe.
I always wondered where £15k came from.

Don't forget to invite everyone over for a house warming bbq in the middle of a dry spell and we can burn down all the surounding fields.
