I have one or two unidentified herbs growing on my allotment! Can anyone point me in the direction of a good website, with lots of piccys, to help me identify them? Thanks

How do you know that they're herbs if you don't know what they are?

I use this site when identifying wildflowers- tiscali.reference, good for wild plants, not sure about cultivated ones though.

Found a site with over 300 pics of herbs on it when i did a google search for my unidentified herb but dont know how to put the web link in without getting a pen and paper and copying it down, tried putting it in favorites and then pasting it to a post but it didnt work but the site was something like https://altnatural.com/gallery/index.html

Thanks all, i know they're herbs cos they're in the herb patch with all the other herbs! They smell lovely, and I know most common herbs, but am at a loss with these. Will check out Pilsbury's link now!

Try this for many types of reference

for plant ID click on 'Botany' under Biosci/Biotech
there may be some pictorial ID amongst the many links, but the one I looked at were forms to fill in with identifying charachteristics, e.g. leafe position, shape, size etc.

To find out about a plant once identified, here the online version of Mrs. Grieve's Modern Herbal

with this one there are photos, but you have to go through the taxonomy, sometimes trial and error, if you don't know what group to look at.

He put up a post saying how on earth do I get rid of this horseradish and everyone wants a bit . A very Downsizer solution to the problem, I thought.
