I think it was Nanny who introduced me to the concept of Friday night as junk food night. It is an idea I have embraced wholeheartedly.

As OH has gone off Oop North in search of beer, I intend to sit in front of the fire this evening with a large bowl of home-made turkey twizzlers, some sort of dip (to be decided) and probably a glass or two of robust and spicey red.

Pizza is another favourite, as are potato wedges, but I need some more suggestions to add to my Friday night repertoire. Any ideas.

Mrs JB has Friday night as her video and popcorn night (I on the other hand go to a squash club so that on average we're not eating badly )

What about Oriental Nuts? Almonds, hazels & cashews, dry roasted and then soy sauce dribbled over while they're still warm.

haven't made it for a while, but certainly goes down well as a Saturday night supper

Just strips of turkey breast, dipped in seasoned flour, then beaten egg and then breadcrumbs. Put on a oiled baking tray, drizzle with a little more oil and then bake at about 200°C for about half an hour until golden and crispy (watch that they don't burn).
Lovely and messy to make - the boys should enjoy that part too.

I haven't made it for a while either, but then I'm not sure when we last had chicken! Hmm...perhaps I'll make some over the weekend. They freeze well too, if you want to do a batch!

Sometimes I add an egg and a few breadcrumbs or sausage rusk - not a lot, just enough to give them a bit of 'squish'

My OH makes the best burgers in the world and they are on the menu for tonight - he makes them a bit in advance and then chills them in the fridge before cooking. I think that helps them to stay together when they are cooked.

I tend to add egg to mine too, and sometimes a few breadcrumbs
