Reading all the listings above please can anyone advise on the soap area of the topic. Which soap is the best to use (haven't been brave enough yet to try the receipe) and how much should I use. I use soda crystals in the wash as I find it gets the washing cleaner and reduces the amount of washing powder needed.

I must admit I didn't know about the fabric softners (would explain why I have to clean the drawer out frequently) will be trying the vinegar solution. I use white vinegar for cleaning and it's brilliant.
