I wish they just had one web address. I'm not that keen on the two main lists, I would like a single main list of articles and a easy navigation bit on the left.

Which we could do by removing the forums column and widening our l/h column. I like the way they separate the different elements.

And moving the google ads to a banner across the bottom of the page.

Tools down the LHS would be good. The subdivisions and thumbnails are done very neatly there. Don't like the colours much.

I was not suggesting that this was 100% waht we want, but as a general format it has merit.

The show stopper though may well be Mambo For this to work we need to show intro text with a thumbnail.

Mambo does not associate a content item with a particular image, and we break the image system in Mambo already by using a thumbnail system.

I think though I could write a module that grabbed the thumbnail out of the intro, and so do the front page items in that format.

we could also then I think show each of the "Trading Post" and "Have you tried" categories on the front page

That's the clincher for me, much easier to navigate

I am finding it very hard to belive that there is not a module to do this

But I cannot find one anywhere.

For me this is also a bit of a clincher. The section/category navigation sucks big time in my view.

I think I will make this my main priority.

With the current Mambo design we can have two different templates, one that applies to the front page and one elsewhere.

Therefore a quick edit of the current design, reducing the number of leader articles and having modules to show the category navigation would be a good incremental step towards the overall new design.

We are not too bad now I think, but there are some reall areas of navigation that are an issue.

New logo is subject of many debates as we try and design around it.

Ok, agreed the navigation could be improved .... not that I would criticise the work of you downsizer geniuses but I think that the present colour scheme is nice. If you start introducing pinks and purples then I think I may have to bring a bucket into the room

Did we ever get anywhere with the "management structure list" I am sure this would make interesting reading for us newcomers???

Don't worry about the colour scheme, that was not what we liked about the gardening site.

A profile of the staff has been largely compiled, i think there might have been the odd reprobate in that regard, but arms are being twisted and thumbs screwed

I like the layout too and agree that tools down the left hand side would be good.

Much easier on the eye in new format, easy to navigate, and I suspect, easier to locate old articles than at present. Tools on left would be good, ads at bottom where they are ignorable also would be better. More screenwidth for content then.
