Some have a bulbous end, others a skinny end...is this pollenation problems?
I think it is Telegraph Improved (f1)

This usually is a pollination issue, and more of a problem on older plants. Are you at the tail end of an earlier planting?

I'd like to point out that around the base of my cucumber plants I've sunk flowerpots for water conservation.

I've not watered the allotment all year.

Unfortunately this cucumber grew into the pot, producing an interesting shape. I gave it to my assistant (and friend) at work which actually might be construed as sexual harassment.

Especially since I work in the civil engineer trade...

No, the earlier planting failed.
We had the same problem on Telegraph last year, which is why we went to Telegraph Improved, F1 seeds.
Unfortunately people wont buy the funny shaped ones...even more chutney this year(what else can I make with cucumbers?)
