for fairly up to date explorer ordnance survey maps that will be used on the north to south wales sponsored ride that we are organising for next august

we have the route, now need maps and in true charity fashion i am wondering if there are any kicking around that folk might not want anymore...the more we can get by kind donation, the more money for the Trust

we seek the following numbers:

265

256

255

239

215

214

200

187

OL12W

we will refund the postage if required

thanking you in anticipation of the hundreds of maps that i know you lot have kicking around....

If you get stuck for maps, we can probably get hold of Land Rangers [1:50000] for most of Wales, but not Explorers.

Try writing to the OS or somebody in the Military, they can normally get hold of maps and might be persuaded by the charity aspect.

they will need to carry them with them on the ride as they may be well off the beaten track...the girls that did the ride in the summer (hereford to here) lost one of theirs and ended up on top of a mountain with no idea of where they were or should be heading to...luckily they had a TRAAKIT with them and just rang to find out where they were and the direction they needed to go in....

don't know any of the military people round here but it is a good thought

You do know that you can get maps printed that cover the area you want & not just the standard area? You might find that after any gifts that you can half whats left by re gridding the maps.

We did it to cover our area as it sat on the border of two maps so we centered it on us & bought one.

Have you tried your local freecycle? I could do OL17 - but it's not on your list.
