I have just been speaking to him about the kayaks and he said he has seen them whilst he was out. Unfortunately, he can only go fishing when my youngest son comes over to stay as I am afraid of water and he can't launch the boat on his own. The boat is called 'the 4th of July'. I would post a photo of her if I knew how.

Perhaps they will bump into each other (not literally, I hope).

Hi Jacqui
Kayaks are good as you can put them on top of the car and launch from virtually anywhere without the need for assistance. Having said that I usually go out with at least one other person for safety. If your other half wants a go on one he is welcome to have a go on my kayak. We plan to buy another tandem kayak soon so our 10 yr old can get out fishing with us too. There are some good fishing marks close in around Aberaeron so no need to go too far out. If your other half wants to get out on the boat and needs someone else to tag along to give a hand I would be happy to help, and if he needs any advice on sit on top kayaks I have a few years experience of paddling different ones and can help with safety tips etc. PM me with phone number if he wants to meet up.

Thanks Moniar,
I'm sure he would welcome some assistance, the boat seats four people - plenty of room for two fishing at a time. He will be getting the boat out and cleaning her up in preparation for the warmer weather soon but I don't suppose he will venture out until after Easter.

Will keep in touch.

I have a couple of other people in work interested in getting an ocean kayak so am going to try to negotiate some discount with a view to buying in late April. Will let you know what sort of pricing I get them down to - we are going to go for another malibu two as adequate for the two of us plus young Jac (xl version we had before was a bit too big for lifting off an don the roof bars and wasnt as stable as the standard malibu 2 tandem, which is still ok to paddle solo for when I want something a bit more stable to fish off for the tope\conger!). I will sort out pricing in early April and get them ordered in by late April.

That would be good. If EV is still interested we may want two. It would be good to get out this year for a paddle and perhaps use EV's fishing rod.
