What our daughter does is make friendship bracelettes. Older son then steals them and gives them to his girl friend. Girlfriend thinks son has made them, and therefore he is sweet. Daughter lets cat out of bag and world war three ensues.
What's wrong with cats' cradle anyway.

Can daughter not teach son, resulting in peace and harmony and fewer teenagers in hair of mother and father?

Or is son typical son who doesn't appreciate wise words and admirable dexterity of little sister?

I've known at least three like that

Never saw point of (translated - got hang of) cat's cradles...I wasn't half bad at "laggy" as we poetically called it in the playgrounds of Leicester, though...which I guess is a bit like cat's cradle, only with legs?!

Little sister will not do anything to promote harmony, I think she is allergic or something.
School holidays can't be much longer can they?

There's a home education article on here so no need for children to go back to school.

In my defence, this is not true. I never ratted out my brother about the scoobies, the CD maybe, but not the scoobies.

and Bugs, do you really think any self-respecting older brother would accept advice from his little sister?

Snowball, Jema, I still think that with all the excess labour in your house you should get an allotment. What else are children for?

children are not slaves (as I regularly point out) so they can choose what they work on.

I have an old fashioned high chair and needed some sort of restraints to stop my baby falling out..so made some out of scoubie dous. They are flexible yet strong. And at least I did something constructive and functional with them. Pictured is the top of the "crossbar" I then added another "bar" which went vertically so that my little 'un wouldn't fall out. I use the extra length to tie the chair to the table so she can't tip herself backwards.

I have other ideas for these things. Placemats and baskets are on the agenda. It's carp that bits of plastic plague us like this, but seeing as they have found their way in my home, I'm going to make sure I use them!

That's obvious Cab, they are a drain on resources and a device for making parents prematurely grey.
