I've got a patch of the plot that I want to prepare for planting garlic on the autumn equinox> It's a bit tired and need a bit of TLC, what green manure would you recomend for over the summer?

We use oats - if they grow too much just strim and leave, a month before we want to plant in the bed, dig in.

Hungarian grazing rye is ridiculously fast growing, and produces lots of green matter for digging in or composting.

I have a large (70g) pack of white mustard, packed by Mr Fothergill, it came to me free with something - can't remember what. I am unlikely to use any of it, so if it's any good to you pm me with your address and I'll post it to you!
