Foxes are desperate this time of year, they have cubs to feed and wean, over april may june they will take massive risks to feed them. July aug they start taking cubs out to hunt, that's when they are more likely to kill everything and leave it behind. Take extra precautions, make sure everything is locked up at night, even then fox will risk daytime raids this time of year. It is irritating, but its nature.

Shot two last week in the garden. One at 0300hrs out of the bedroom window with the .22 (much to wife's annoyance) and the other at 0530hrs thing in the morning with a twelve bore when I was trying to shoot an egg thieving carrion crow.

But it will only be a temporary respite!

The last lot it took was in daylight. The chickens were locked up at 5 tonight.
