Yes, I had a plain pair /\ on each side, the next three in on each side flip every four rows, only the middle two aren't paired and go for a long time before flipping /\/////\\\/\ . It doesn't make any difference which way they are twisting though, the braid is twisting one way only. It's twirling because one side is slightly longer than the other.
Actually just sitting here playying with it, tugging it about, seems to be improving it. Hopefully it will felt a bit, and hold the better shape. |
