Now I defer to you. I have no knowledge of this round as I find only subsonic rounds effective on rabbit due to noise. Ditto with the .17hmr I may add.

It's an amazing rifle. Fluted barell with vents, polymer stock, etc....luvly. In the forums I think I'll stick to what I know, pest control and varminting....the rest I'l defer to your superior knowledge of larger calibres. My only knowledge of largere calibres i sArmy training based, so not relevant. We used a .225 (5.56) on humans.

Very pretty gun (except for the twisty barrel), but it couldn't shoot straight!

Is that due to poor design or was it defective?

Oi madman - by the way where did you get your nick name from?

Is it worth getting a "pair of legs" for my BRNO .22? the only thing I'd worry about is elevating the shot from a safety point of view?

I got the name years ago when I was playing soldier of fortune online. It started as Mad Welshman.

I got the legs for the BRNO because it is the heavy barrelled version so it's hard to hold the aim for long. The legs don't really elevate the muzzle because to use the legs you shoot prone. And after all, the bullet should land where the crosswire points, which I would hope isn't into the air anyway!

so your not called madman cos of your arsenal?

Bullet will hopefully land where cross hairs are, but concious of shooting prone rather than standing (against a support) which feels safer as shooting into the ground.

I understand what you mean, but have to say that with legs attached the gun feels as if it's computer controlled, it's so accurate. Rock solid point of aim.

Don't get the Arsenal bit. Need enlightenment plz, lol[/quote]

Madman
Thanks for the info, sorry for the delay in replying have to wait my turn to get on the computer. It is interesting learning of someones experience with the .17. On one place where I go beating a lad uses both .17 & .22 but had loads of praise for the smaller round. I will be in shropshire myself on sat as it is our beaters day then.
