Would be a great service to post on here offers and comparisons, Im going to Aldi in a bit so will get a few prices, some of their fruit and veg is unbeleivable.

Wonder if someone could set up a spread sheet where everyone can fill in.

Good to traul different sources if you have the time, Im just a mingebag thats why I do it.

Other day Esso was 1.45 and morrison 1.39 for deisel big difference.

I dont go to farmers market for cheapness btw, I like the produce.
Just drives me mad its only once a month (Lark Lane Liverpool) and if I miss it its 8 weeks.

And there you can get things like rabbit and swordfish which isnt always available elsewhere.

Beware of supermarket fuel. You'll get lower mpg and performance with some, and Morrisons is at the end of that scale seemingly. How much is true, how much is anecdotal? Well, the debate rages.

Just my opinion and a bit of a rant ......
I hate supermarkets. They are no better than double glazing firms or the likes of DFS with their fake promotions, permanent special offers and yo-yo prices.....it's all bull****
I appreciate food costs vary with season and the need to clear stock but the current situation of virtually everything on supermarket shelves being on some kind of offer is bull****
I've just come from my butchers with my breakfast - not one single thing on offer - sausages cost wot sausages cost - I don't know or care for the price of sausages in Tesco.
I appreciate a lot of people have to watch the pennies but the present supermarket situation is just too much and I have better things to waste my brain cells on than comparing the cost of one (bull****)special offer against another.
Someone like me who doesn't care (upto a point) what their food costs will buy your eggs anyway whether they are 10p more or 10p less than some fake price at some particular supermarket on a particular day in a particular store.
Somebody else who does the comparison thing will probably allready have it in their head how much a pack of butter is and may well disagree with your comparison chart anyway.

I think you're trying to compare apples with oranges.
Concentrate on the quality of farmers produce instead.

Yeah definately noticed that down the years, especially in performance Shell always seem to give good performance.

Yep it was Northern Boy having a rather amusing pop at me for my sometimes admittedly inability to keep up with the University challenge team.

My two pet hates about that are when they say you 'Save ' money by buying something, you havent saved F###All youve paid the price they are asking.
And when they say 'Hurry' as if your gonna leap into your car cos they say hurry.Even if it were a good deal I wouldnt go just because of that

Cut price headline deals work though, very few people are immune to them.

I can see exactly where onemanband is coming from, but at the same time, I know chez is doing the price comparison thing as one bit of her armoury. It'll be used, but not relied on as the sole thing. Price is a concern for some people, or at least the perception of price. This begins to address this. Other people complain about regularity, or parking or range, etc. these things are also being highlighted, in different ways at different times.

I'm with onemanband on this. Sadly a majority of people shop using price as the measure (thats why Tesco does so well)- quality a poor second and as to the condition of the people who farmed/produced it - who gives a f**&
I'm happy to pay more (and eat less of it) for something produced by someone who has a decent wage and produced in a sustainable way - but I know i'm in the minority (even my partner thinks i'm daft with money).
