Now for sale with the option of purchasing additional amenity land adjoining the garden by seperate negotiation.

Lovely detached painted stone and slate 2 double bedroomed cottage just about to be marketed on behalf of my inlaws.
Situated in the Stunning Marches borderland countryside on the edge of the Shropshire Hills AONB in the small friendly community of Felindre, Powys, village with a pub and village hall! This is a painted stone cottage with kitchen extension set in a garden with fruit trees/bushes herbs etc bordering a brook. Lovely location for someone who appreciates wildlife and walking or riding as you are a short walk from 1000s of acres of open common Crown Estate hill land managed by the Wildlife Trust, with dippers and kingfishers visiting the brook in the garden. Also not too far from the Offa's Dyke National Trail and Glyndwr's Way National Trail(this one goes though Felindre and past the front door!), as well as the Jack Mytton Way.
The house has a good sized sunny double reception/dining room, small utility room, and kitchen with lean to conservatory/greenhouse with an established grape bearing vine growing in it. Attached garage and potting shed and a large garden shed. It has a solar panelled heating system installed which is very effective.
The next small village, Beguildy, which is about 2 miles away has another good pub, a village stores and post office as well as a small primary school.
We have been advised to market it at £160,000 to £165,000 but are very open to offers for a quick sale
Will try and get some pictures added shortly

Wouldn't happen to be just opposite what looks like a converted chapel and within staggering distance of the local pub would it? (Google maps is a wonderful thing isn't it?)
If so, it looks lovely; I'm hoping Gigervamp doesn't see it as I'm really not ready to move to Mid-Wales just yet
Best of luck with the sale though, from the outside it looks like a bargain.

Yes that is the one!! And yes it is lovely a spot!! Well it is only a field's distance away from the English (Shropshire) border if you are not quite ready for mid-Wales so you can pop back into England at any time if you feel the need!!!

Oh I have no problems with England/Wales, but I'm kind of feel tied to South Wales as it's where I grew up and my family's round here. Obviously, in the future there will no doubt be less family nearby, but I still feel a tie to the land round here.

oops sorry my slight misinterpretation of your post! Does Gigervamp have connections with this area then?

No, no, she's a Londoner, she just loves how much more rural Mid-Wales is to South Wales every time we go there. And would especially love a garden with a stream at the bottom of it.
We're fairly rural (especially compared to London) but there's a lot more development round here; Sadly, the local council is seemingly obsessed with supermarkets, roundabouts, traffic lights and industrial estates (Money talks, after all). We have a small pocket of green fields around us (many of which I played in as a child) but I can envisage a time when it's all been replaced with roads/housing estates/supermarkets due to compulsory purchase orders and the like. Wouldn't want to give up on the area but I can see that happening (housing estates creeping over the horizon more and more, my Nan used to refer to them as "The enemy advancing") and suspect that would be when it would be time to move on

(I'm Jools on here!)

Too late! It has a brook! I've always wanted a stream or a brook in my garden.

I have no connection to mid Wales, (ex Londoner) but I love the ruggedness of the area. S. Wales is lovely, but it doesn't have the crags and mountains like mid Wales has.

:wistful sigh:

Yes it is a special area, beautiful but not too full of people and a slower pace of life. There is nearby access onto the open hills and its amazing how few people you see when you walk or ride up there. I really struggle when I go back down south (I am a Hampshire girl) with how busy and full of people even the countryside is down there and when I visit Dorset especially (not that I go away much since having a small-holding!), and know what you mean about advancing housing estates!

View towards the open hills and common land (taken from our farm, we are on the otherside of the valley a bit further downvalley) in the background which can be easily be reached from the cottage
