Is eggshell paint still the durable finish of yesteryear or is there a better paint finish these days?

I have some solid pine door fronts I wish to paint but my minds awash with finishes from flat, velvet flat, pearl lustre, satin, eggshell, low gloss, semi-gloss and gloss, etc.

Maybe a satinwood finish? hmm.

Cheers

I sanded down (IKEA birch veneer) cupboard doors in our kitchen last year and painted them with eggshell, gave a nice soft looking finish. If I remember correctly, I gave them a buff with a beeswax spray polish afterwards, just to make them a bit more knock resistant.

Anyone know at what lower temperature grout stops doing it's thang?

I've looked on the bag but it's not on it as far as I can see but my eyes could well be painted on.
