Is there a way of reducing a soil pipe down to fit a kitchen sink waste pipe and if there is what are the bits called? Thanks

If you mean to connect a sink waste to a soil pipe, you used to be able to buy a clamp that bolts around the soil pipe, with a sink waste inlet, you just bore out a hole in the soil pipe to accomodate the waste inlet,

Otherwise you will need a soil pipe junction, with a sink waste inlet, cut the soil pipe to insert this junction, and join back remainder of soil pipe.

"clamp on boss "(mm of stack and mm of sink pipe ) for plastic

if it is cast iron tis best to get a new " section with a boss " or a " y" that can be reduced together with 2 "timesavers" to connect it to the cut off ends

You might have already thought of this - but make sure its properly vented, otherwise you might be getting 'bad' air from the soil pipe back up into your sink.

Your sink should have a U-bend to stop that.
Regardless of venting it would still smell otherwise.

the venting thing is to mitigate a flush from on high sucking the u bend dry as it goes past

The bad air had been thought about but thanks for reminding me

The soil pipe is in concrete outside under stone paving, loathed to dig is out, it is new soil pipe not pot/clay or what have you. It was laid in anticipation of this project some 6 or so years ago and capped off.

The cutting into the pipe option TyG suggested appeals, I'll have a look see, think the boys at the merchants enjoy my visual explanations of what I'm after from their comments and chuckling.
