Series comming out on BBC4 on 17th October about the restoration of neglected woodlands. We're biased because we were involved in the programme in a small way, but having met some of the other people involved, it looks really promising.

It will be interesting to see what sort of investment is necessary.

With no TV and a dongle for our internet, we're not going to see it until tomorrow, so we'll have to see if it's as good as it sounds then.

We watched the first programme last night and really enjoyed it. We now have it on series record.

Yep, me too. Enjoyable and much less trivialised than some other things like this I've seen.

We watched it this morning. Really enjoyed it. For anyone who missed it, it's repeated this evening and on Sunday.

We particuarly liked the wood-kiln dried logs getting a mention. The brown ends (wood that has not quite become charcoal) keep us warm all through the winter. They're a great fuel although you do have to be careful not to make the stove glow.

Yes, I got the impression they can get a bit warm - didn't they mention a temperature of nearly 400 degrees C at one point?

The 2000-year old coppice was pretty amazing

I felt a bit sorry for the two Tamworth pigs. Eight weeks hard work clearing the woodland and what was their reward? Redundancy and off to the slaughter house I'm sure that we saw that the sow was in season in the first episode.

Yeah, but you need a bacon sarnie after all that hard work...
