In this house I cook a roast most Sundays (BA is a traditional boy). I always intend it to last through the next day abd become bubble and squeak and cold cuts. However, no matter how big a joint (I roast it always seems to get eaten on the Sunday
Are they all just piggies or am I suffering from the teen locust effect?
I don't think BA ever grew out of it.

I did a 1.5kg joint of need yesterday and it fed 5 adults and one baby well and wad then nibbled and sandwiched in the evening until nothing was left, we did all feel a bit guilty about it but in reality it made a good 9 meals in the end....

Yesterday's 1.75kg duck fed 3 adults and 2 boys who both have large appetites. No meat left but the carcass will be turned into stock.

Well we did have four seemingly starving children around the table yesterday... Plus the pooch had to have some. And I cook the roast sometimes

There's only two of us but good meat gets eaten. You'd probably be better doing two slightly smaller joints and putting one away for during the week.

I've even tried that. Also with things like lasagne. Two moderate sized ones and they will tuck into the second.
Unless I give them a look

usually lasts us - 3 adults - 2 days.

We only carve half of it, and put a plate of that on the table.

Roast will do the four of us, whatever it is, then there's cold for sandwiches, bones for stock, and pickings for a risotto, or something else, usually.

It's the one meal I actually do use properly/efficiently.

2 adults, 1 generous main meal and 2 x dishes with what's left.

Put it out of sight once its served Nell.
If we leave it in the centre of the table, there's only enough left for one day.
It's called temptation.

To be fair. If I say "leave it alone it is for tomorrow", they will, and have. But they clearly need feeding

the pork we had from the butcher yesterday was huge. I am wondering where they put it all. We did have extra teens/tweens to feed yesterday and it is known they have hollow legs.
I also invited them as it is known their mother only feeds them sarnies and pot noodles.
