Oh, now there is an interesting point.

If you have a stable economy and a growing population, then on average, each person is getting less...

OTOH, if there are more people, there are more people to produce things or to add value. The trick, perhaps is to match economic growth to population growth.

Meanwhile, back in real world land, it really doesn't matter a damn, just as long as the people at the top keep shafting the people at the bottom.

And industrial decline/improvements in efficiency.
