Anyone know of any for sale in Essex? Preferably boer cross or something else good for meat.

Youngest's birthday coming up, she's asked for cash to fund the goats, what's wrong with sweets and toys?

as pets well umm,as livestock well yumm

beware mission creep

you might have to put the washing line a bit higher and accept a certain level of deforestation, some bruises and a goaty miasma wafting around but it could be sheep.

Didn't Kirstyfern keep Boers? She's not been around for a while, but it might be worth PMing her. I think she's out your way - ie, further north than I am.

I'm sure they do. Goat meat is very nice. Do you think you'll ever taste it?

It's OK we have a field with encroaching blackthorn and brambles, although mission creep is a concern, next thing it'll be bloody sheep again

Deffo, the kids came with me to the abattoir when when we picked up the 1st batch of lambs we sent to slaughter, they know where meat comes from, and they know that we don't keep animals unless we're going to eat them

Can I just say how much this thread has brightened an otherwise rather grey day?
