Deerstalker,

That's the first time I've heard that wild boar have a problem with parasites.

Here in the Dordogne, there is a very low stocking level of boar because the population is kept in check. (Mainly to reduce car accidents & crop damage. )

I also have goats, pigs and sheep and they all eat the same thing as the wild boar (apart from earthworms and small mammals of course in the case of the ruminants.) and we only wormed our goats for the first time in 18 months this week because the weather has been so mild and we still have a lot of ticks.

I've hardly ever seen external parasites on boar, and I've never found any internal parasites. I must admit I don't check every time, but the animals killed this year have been healthy, of a good weight and with no signs of anemia.

Could you possibly let me have the source of your information on parasites?

Thanks.

HWH

I was taught this in my army survival training.

Here's one (to be viewed after you've had your lunch)

And another (there are plenty more if you want to google them!)
