I have a great deal of difficulty with good shaped carrots, so I tend to grow short blunt ones. We had one that I thinned from between two others. Unless the later sown ones come to something think we will have about half a dozen carrots this year, which is more than usual.

The most success I had was growing them in a long high sided rectangular pot, in the greenhouse.

seed sown salad onions, slender but both green and white bits are rather nice.

the last batch was birded/moused, middle batch partially birded

the blackberries are very close to another pick, if it stays relatively dry and a bit sunny til friday there should be some grade one for dessert use/freezing etc + quite a few cookers
if it is grey and damp we might get some grade 2 for bramble jelly or pastilles

first hint of orange on a tomato, not many set so far though which is a bit of a worry as they have 2 months or so of light to get on with it.

My blackberries just carry on, but then they are a rather prolific variety. I cut them right back last winter so there were only about half a dozen stems about 4' long, and I still can't get to the middle of them now.
