as many of you know, im going to the world scout jamboree in july. this is not going to be easy as i have 3 months to raise the £500 fee's.

so, this is a general plea to any one interested in sponsering me, either as part of my driving challenge round pembrey bomb range or in general. i am also keen to get any promotional stuff like stickers and badges i can use during the jamboree.
seeing as there will be 45,000 scouts there from all but 3 of the countries in the world it could be a real oppertunity!

so, pm if interested and i will email the forms around.
thanks in advance..

£500 in 90 days? Sounds like a lot!

I wish i could sponsor you myself, but I was thinking about other ways you could raise the money. Thinking about raising £5.56 per day seems more manageable perhaps? It might be: giving up the cost of a bus fare; not buying store bought sandwiches and snacks for lunch? Collecting your odd change? Unless you are in really dire circumstances (and if you are, I know how that feels!) it might well be doable? And of course, you might well be doing those things anyway!

So: I will wish you lots of luck instead. The whole thing sounds like it could be lots of fun.

publicity , try the features / local "goodnews" desk at the local paper ,
ask the dc for overseas scouting for some advice ,
because of the time thing it would be good to get sponsorship and provide goods / services .
events can work well (and not )try to get local venues to sponsor benifit gigs etc (sell it so both parties gain )
try the outdoor equipment suppliers if you cant use it you can raffle it .
scout barbies/ camp cooking sit down even can be great fun for all and just maybe something so daft as a febuary bbq (think comfort but canvas n fire )would get plenty press
watch the blues brothers

yep..sweden in 2011..its a 4 year gap. the USA is doingtheir centenary jam next year so there will be the oppertunity to go there too.

make sure his troop/pack is looking at going well in advance as the cheapest way to do it is with lots of fundraising and early booking.
im planning on doing sweden too....if i make it that far!
