I am trying to set up a new computer for my mum.

At the moment we both have the same mouse, with a wheel, and as far as I can see, in control panel they are both set up identically.

On her machine ,, when using the up and down arrows at the side, of the mouse the page rolls, rather than moves slowly.

Why is this and how can I change it.

If you are running XP,
Go into control panel, find mouse properties choose wheel. There should be the option to scroll via page or number of lines.

I have done that, and both computers are set the same.

Is there any other setting to try.

It was alright yesterday, but not this morning.

The only other thing I can think of is the device manager. There is a setting in the mouse section that says assume wheel is present.
Dont see how that would be it though as it must be able to see the wheel if it is scrolling.
Could the original setting have got reset as it worked yesterday?

Just thought ,is it in the browser that it does this?
In mozilla it can use smooth scrolling or auto scrolling by changing it in tools. Probably can change it in other browsers too.

Looking at it again, the page goes in waves, as it moves, instead of scrolling up and down normally.
