I was reminded of strawberry picking as a kid earlier, when I was filling up my second big punnet of strawberries from the allotment.

I wasn't playing the 'one for the punnet/one for me' game this time though...well, a few might have jumped into my mouth

Can I help it if I have suicidal strawberries?

Thing is, I only got about a third of the way through the patch, we've got so many of them!

I don't recall seeing ANY down here actually, they used to be everywhere in Scotland/Cumbria. Perhaps they've all gone from there too though

Still got several PYO places around here, mind you there used to many, many more until the developers took a liking to our village!

We tend to go to the one on Titchfield Road, great place that starts the year selling Daffs and Tulips, then as the summer comes on it's PYO strawbs, rasberries and goosegogs, and finishing the year with pumpkins and wallflowers.
