Just ordered the following to go with the Fragaria vesca I'm raising from seed:

F chiloensis
F viridis
F moschata
F virginiana

Anyone ever tried 'em?

I've got some wild strawberries (sorry don't know which variety) which I grow in a wooden trough. Some fruits are already beginning in the green house and they fruit from about May to the first hard frost (I move them outside when the frosts have past). Just a tiny handful a day, but they are for my little boy, so just right for him to hunt for when he's outside playing!

My mum has always had wild strawberries growing in her garden. The sweetest, most intense strawberry flavour ever. Yes, they're tiny, but sooooo delish!! I'm going to grow lots when we move to France ...
