NO !!!!! Poisonous (except for some obscure variety, probably mentioned on the PFAF website)

You haven't got enough kids to do a proper LD50 trial so that's probably best.

Its a shame because they look like they should be, as does nightshade


I take them off because i reckon that the honeysuckle does not flower as well the next year if they are still on when the season starts, could be just coincidence though.

Ad children eying berries by the door or along the road:

Have a look at this plant. Very common and deadly to children if more than a few berries are eaten.

They are everywhere around here and people just do not know them.

Oh, I once had a neighbour who ate them and kept offering them to us

When I was little Mum had two huge pink honeysuckles at the front and back gates, I remember all the bees it attracted but no berries.

I've now got a yellow honeysuckle that flowered for the first time this year and now is full of berries. It's well out of the way of any small children so I've left the berries alone for the birds.
