Excuse me if I don’t share the congratulations. When there are so many unwanted cats desperately looking for homes and people are still allowing their pets to breed I think it’s just irresponsible, not something to be proud of. Even if they all have homes lined up, for every kitten born another in a rescue centre loses the chance of a new start with that new owner. When are people going to wake up and understand that by breeding these animals they are directly or indirectly adding to the problem. I’m assuming these are not rare breed kittens from prize winning parents of course.

These don't sound like pets but strays/wild. I have the same problem - I do the same, catch them, then neuter them when old enough, spay mum when she's stopped feeding, try to catch Dad when he's next passing through. But there always seem to be more the following year

these are not prize breed felines but are in fact feral cats so i do understand there are loads of unwanted cats about but if you cannot catch them you cannot do anything about it we had tamed them enough to handle them once so far in nearly 4 mths next step is to give them the chop if your willing to pay for it then please do so but when you have no job and givern no money what so ever you feed your child 1st the wild last. meaning they will get done but i will do it when i can afford it asap you see all these unwanted foxes about but you dont see anyone offering to pay for them to be neutured

My next door neighbour got her cat four years ago. She leaves it out all night whatever the weather so it spends most of its time sat on the kitchen wall meowing to get let in.

Added to this its had a least three litters to my knowledge and now she has a second cat also female. It like a tom cats knocking shop in my backyard, wailing and fighting 24/7.

I have now have to escort my own neutered cat of 16yrs when he needs spend a penny to make sure they don't try and chase him out of his own garden.

Myself and mum do the same. We're lucky in that our vet spays wild cats for free. We feed them for a while then get a loan of a cat trap from the vet to catch them and get them spayed. Sadly those numbers are rising every year though.

Apologies misty, you didn’t say they were feral cats not your pets, and the number of times I’ve read on forums of people allowing the animals they care for to breed willy nilly and being proud of it makes my blood boil. These animals don't necessarily give birth inside the home either. As others have said though, I’ve heard of cat rescue services that help with catching feral cats.

Not sure what you mean by “you see all these unwanted foxes about but you dont see anyone offering to pay for them to be neutured”. Foxes are wild animals not pets so nothing to do with humans. They regulate their own birth count to be in balance with the eco-system (unlike humans I may add but that's a different debate!) Feral cats on the other hand are a man made problem caused by irresponsible pet owners
