Or better still pigs in blankets. Though I suppose that sausages wrapped in bacon probably don't really qualify as a vegetable.

They do if you put enough ketchup on.

Actually, I've reconsidered the original post. It's Sunday Lunch. Do it properly. Faffing about like some sort of continental with trays of roasted vegetables indeed. Pshaw.

A meat tray full of root veg (and onions, can't live without onions) with oil and any old cheap wine (homemade will do) and leave to do is gorgeous. Potatoes, are best par boiled first so they go nice and crispy on the outside when roasted. Any old meat will do, leave the fat on it though so it cooks in it's own juices. Wrap the lot in foil or whatever and go down the pub for an hour or two.

(I might even throw in Yorkshires - I know - heresay for some with chicken - but I've yet to meet a kid who won't eat them)

Not in this house, when I grew up Yorkshires went with Sunday dinner, the meat type didn't come into it

Good idea, will do some along with a tray of root veg and a tray of roasties. Simple. Will end up adding something green too, probably peas as I know my nephew likes them. Perhaps cauli cheese...it's getting bigger

We always have yorkshires with every Sunday dinner too. Nice big ones that you can pour the gravy in

I have to have mash too if it's roast chicken.
