One of my hybrids has decided that now, in deep and deepening snow, is a really good time to moult and wander about with a naked bum.

Oh and it's a good idea to carry on laying as well.

She seems fine though.

Daft creature.

Another egg this morning, and another hen has decided to join her in laying... Completely mad. Especially as I had to dig them out of 3 feet of snow to open the door to their run to put their food and water in.

Trust me to have stupid chickens. (Not complaining about the uneggspected eggs though..)

The Leghorn hasn't stopped laying yet, despite being sin-binned for bullying. She seems perfectly happy and can see everyone else.

The little Braekel lost a few feathers and stopped laying for 6 weeks, but we've had 2 from her since the weekend. Her companions, the Legbar, stopped laying at the start of November, but restarted laying on Monday, having started moulting on Sunday

Our Sussex looks half plucked but we're still getting 3 eggs a day from the other 4 after a couple of weeks with nothing

I love my chooks, they make me smile and cheer my heart on these cold, cold mornings with all their funny behaviour
