This is going to sound really stupid but can anyone tell me what colour eggs they lay? Thank you.

Ours used to lay white eggs.

The reason I was asking was because i got some off Ebay that were all infertile and they were blue. I went up to West Down like you suggested and they are white. So I got confused

I have been told, by a few people now, and how true it is I can't say, but many ebay sellers are thought to sell pre-candled eggs. As in these are eggs they have started to incubate candled and found them infertile, then they list them on ebay and sell them. It's one way to understand the high proportion of ebay eggs being infertile. If you buy of ebay, candle them when they arrive.

Are these the ones that just hatched, or are you doing some more?

If so when did they start, or haven't they yet, and is there room in the incy?

I had 12 eggs in there, 6 aylesburys and 6 Khaki Campbells, both from e bay. 5 khaki's hatched and are surviving at the moment. The 'Aylesburys' were blue eggs and all duds. I have now got 6 from West Down and am about to put them in.

I am shocked about what was said about buying eBay eggs.....especially as I saw Cayuga duck eggs going for £36 for six earlier this year. I am hatching now and I have got 2 fertile eggs....they look like Aylesbury eggs but who knows?? out of 12, which was a poor success rate for me.....so now I know why.

To some people, just about every white duck is an Aylesbury. They are clearly quite quackers ! Pure Aylesburys are huge ducks and some of the adult ducks sold as being pure bred specimens are only just half the size of the real thing.
