I would like to use them far more often but they are so expensive. I imagine for good reason but I was wondering if they are cheaper bought in larger quantities? If so where from?

Trouble is they don't keep too well, and go rancid if not used within a couple of months of being opened.

I wondered about that. They've never lasted long enough here.

I keep mine in the fridge and they seem to last for a few months - I read somewhere they freeze ok - next time I buy some I am going to try freezing a few to see if they keep their crunch.

World shortage which'll probably get worse. Development in the Med means a lot of pine forests have been cut down, same is happening in china, same happened in the US years ago, and in India/Pakistan a lot have been chopped down for timber.

I think we'll be self sufficient in pine nuts in 20 or 30 years time...

A friend has recommended that I plant some. I will do for the children who will live here. Doesn't quite solve it now though.
