If a pattern called for merino DK but the wife would prefer to use baby cashmerino would there be any differences needed to the patter?

Oh, and it's Debbie Bliss stuff if that makes a difference.

Check gauge with the cashmerino, and adjust needle size rather than pattern if necessary ?

Knit a tension square. Have you learned nothing from downsizer?
And congratulations if this is an announcement.

You know I don't listen properly.

And how dim are you? Ask Jamanda what happened a year ago.

Unless Sean thinks there's a subtle hint in the name of the yarn.

We don't have the wool and she's refusing to buy any until she know's what's what.

Apparently it somewhere between a 4-ply and DK.

Oh, that's a pain, that 'in-between size' yarn.
Sorry, I've reached the limits of my knitting knowledge here.
Hope someone else can help.

Great - thanks Gil. Only problem now is that that's a different weight - will that need different needles to knit to the same overall size? I'm guessing that if it does than the 'weave' would be different.

How badly different is MerinoDK going to be from CashmerinoDK ?
Maybe a needle size ?

Off again to check details.

There you go - compare as you wish.
Almost identical, I'd say.

I guess the reason for substituting yarns is that the MerinoDK is discontinued.
