We went to a new location at the weekend - there were thousands of Fly Agarics, along with quite a few hedgehogs, chanterelles and a couple of Ceps and Orange Birch Boletes

Has anyone ever used fly agarics to kill flies and if so how effective was it

no re fly toxin, iirc fresh ones mashed in milk is a recipe

shamanic use needs great care on both toxicology and mental health grounds

the psycopharmacology is broadly similar to cane toads

both are a bit iffy imho ,just dont do it ,i sound like nancy reagan

If you meant dont eat them then that goes without saying.

Anyway, has anyone tried using them for fly control yet?

Here's a different view of one we found last week, the cap was at least 20cm across and and the photo shows the ring on the stem and the gills very clearly.
