I think I'm finally getting it....really want to learn to knit this year, be nice to spend some time with a mentor and some likeminded souls. Can anyone recommend anything in Mid or West Wales, searches are proving fruitless but I'm sure I've seen mention on here a while back.

TIA Clara

The link isn't working because of the comma Sally.

Thanks that's certainly interesting, will keep it bookmarked. But I need instant gratification (before I lose heart...)

maybe someone in your neck of the woods could arrange to give you a lesson to get you started? Who are you near to in DS terms?

Come and have a cuppa it might prompt me to get on with some that's been sat half done for months.
Sure we can find something to occupy small people long enough to knit something.

Local Police hunting the 'knitting needle nutter' who has stabbed six people in the last 48 hours, believe the attacker could be following some kind of pattern.

Just send a message when you want to come, as long as I'm not snowed in by then of course.

This may seem silly (and sorry for the late response), but I was curious to know if there were any American knitting guilds.

I've been wanting to get into knitting for a while, but never had the time or the patience. I'm thinking if I can knit with friends, it'll provide me with patience and the ability to adapt/learn. If you're wondering why I'm on THIS thread,. . .well. . . thank Stumble Upon. LOL.

I'd love to knit a blanket/quilt sometime. I LOVE quilts. I suppose the only issue I would have would be finding a way to wash the fabric properly. Not sure what washers I would use! Oh well. Thanks for allowing me to chime in. Hope to meet you all soon!

Hi and welcome to Downsizer, LeafyGreens !

I don;t know about US Knitting Guilds (they must have them ,surely ?), but have you tried looking on Ravelry to find a local group near you ?

Whereabouts are you in the US ?
