Are we talking a modern CD, say in the last year or two? Or one for longer ago? I don't think I've seen a CD recently, but might have a very old one somewhere.

I guess anything will work to get online. THEN a download for modern stuff can be done.

I wonder, if you have your login details, can you log in with the standard internet software on the laptop and download what you need like that?

Are you on dial-up or broadband?

Fraid that wont work...as internet is dependant on Henry's internet being up to piggyback on.

Ugh, sorry, I don't understand, then. Do you go via your computer, through Henry's computer, to the internet? Or do you go straight from your computer through a modem of some kind, to the internet?

Good point tahir....his line should be operational by 18Feb...hopefully. I wanted a disc ahead of this so that I would be ready to get online when the line is repaired.

I've had a look but I threw out all the free CDs when I moved. I'm sure there must be one about somewhere, I didn't think it was actually possible to throw out every single AOL disk as you always find one tucked away some place.
