Couldn't a gang of us all bung in some money and buy it as the Downsizer Holiday Home?

Now that would be a good idea and theres plenty to learn about downsizing over there...... most people havent upsized....and would be quite easy as a company is formed to buy the properties. You could actually easily make it pay for itself if you let it out as well.

What are the airfares and logistics of getting there?
I don't suppose that we'd have to holiday with other Downsizers, so thats OK and even my limited maths tells me that ten of us would only have to chip in a grand each. MJ could sort out the conveyancing.

Whatever it is, I'm sure there are folk on the board with the required skills.
I expect many of us have been happily living in houses that "need finishing".

Is this a serious proposition?
If so, then presumably we should form some sort of company to do it. Perhaps a cooperative or a friendly society?

Needs a kitchen and bathroom putting in and the floors need some attention, they were originally clay on timber which I suppose you could put the clay back. There is a basic rewire ie socket and light in each room.see attached pic of fireplace note the floorboards.
Bathroom would cost around 600 quid

I bags the first week in May and the last in September and I volunteer to keep any vermin in check.

Some of us downsizers are tough, I'd make do with a bucket and a sponge and didn't you mention a stream?
