I'm wanting a short length of steel tube, 10mm OD, 8mm ID

OK, it might be an odd thing to be looking for, but I can't think where to get it...

Thanks, but I'm a bit wary of using stainless: doesn't it accelerate corrosion of the adjacent mild steel?

And I only need a tiny bit.

Looking in one of the Model Engineers magazines in your newsagents for stockists. Local autojumbles would be another idea or have you got a decent old fashioned ironmonger near you?

We have one in town that sells stuff like that. However I usually use Devizes Steel as it is owned by an old school chum.

They have a large set of shelves/racks, near the hinges, brackets and shelving bit. Full of strips, lengths and items just like that. I think it might even be signed Ironmongery.
